Dr. Travis Spillman
Dr. Spillman has been a part of the dental world for over two full decades now, and he still finds new things to love about his job every day. He enjoys working so closely with other people, having the ability to create, and spending his time problem-solving in ways that make other’s lives better! Plus, since he was born and raised right here in Rockwall, he feels proud to give back to his local community, which has given him so much over the years. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Amazingly enough, Dr. Spillman’s desire to become a dentist originated right in this very dental office! He also decided that dentistry was the right fit for him because it would give him the freedom to be his own boss and spend quality time with his family while also improving smiles.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Spillman attended Baylor University for his undergraduate degree and then moved on to the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston for his dental doctorate, working as an assistant on the side. After graduating, he became an associate in that same dental office for several years before deciding to start his very own practice. Today, he remains very active in the continuing education field, participating in both the Seattle Study Club and a Spear Study Group. He has also received his master’s certificate from CARD (Center for Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry) and is still a member of their teaching faculty. As part of his commitment to ongoing training, he does quite a bit of teaching and regularly gives lectures and presentations to fellow dentists.
Outside of the Dental Office,
What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Spillman and his wife Michele have three children and are very active members of their local community. They enjoy spending quality time on the lake, in the mountains, or on the beach. As for personal hobbies, he really enjoys coaching his kids in various sports, doing triathlons, fishing, and doing pretty much any water sports. He’s also well-known for his legendary BBQ pitmaster talents!
