Frequently Asked Dental Questions – Rockwall, TX
Quick Answers for Your Dental Questions
Our patients ask us questions every single day regarding their oral health, and we love it! Education is a big part of what we provide in addition to hands-on services, because the more someone knows, the healthier their teeth usually are! You’ll find answers to some of the most popular dental-related questions below, but if there is anything else you’d like to ask, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
How often should I visit a dentist?
While this answer can vary from person to person depending on their particular needs, on average, we recommend getting at least two checkups and cleanings per year. This is often enough that we can spot most dental problems before they become serious, plus we can remove plaque and tartar from those areas of your mouth that you frequently miss while brushing and flossing (we all have them!).
I’m really nervous about going to the dentist. Can you help?
Certainly! Your comfort is one of our top priorities, which is why for our more anxious patients, we’re ready to provide sedation dentistry. We have options that are perfect for children and adults who have varying levels of dental phobia, and with the right approach, we can guarantee a smooth and stress-free appointment for every single patient.
I haven’t been to the dentist for a LONG time. Can you still help me?
Yes! A lot of patients we have helped over the years have been in your exact same situation. No matter how long it has been since you’ve visited a dentist and how many dental issues you might have, we’re ready and able to help. We can get your health and appearance back on track, and we promise we will NEVER judge you because of the condition of your teeth. Here, we’re all about offering solutions, not making you feel bad.
Why does my tooth hurt?
Dental pain can stem from a long list of reasons—worn enamel, a cavity, a crack, and much more. Minor temperature sensitivity can be managed by switching to a sensitive tooth toothpaste, but if you have persistent pain, go ahead and give us a call. We’ll schedule you for a same-day appointment and help you right away.
Are metal braces the only way I can straighten my teeth?
Not anymore! Invisalign is perfect for adults and teens who want to straighten their teeth discreetly, without the bulky brackets and wires. We offer it here at Spillman Family Dental, and we even have a special running that makes the treatment easily affordable!
Will you accept my dental insurance?
Spillman Family Dental is happy to accept many different dental insurance plans from a long list of popular providers. To learn how you’ll be covered at your next appointment, just give us a call, and we’ll answer all your questions and even give you a rough estimate of your out-of-pocket costs.
